Update on the creek restoration

More clearing around the creek in preparation planting during the winter 2007

As you can see the creek side is now clear of a lot of debris and blackberry.

       

Workers are grading and preparing the soil. A volunteer clear scattered large fallen branches.

 Flaglettes are set on spots to mark where to plant native trees and shrubs.   

             

Karen shows didi how to plant native tree.  Tree planting blessing is done, followed  by fencing to protect from deer.

Clearing the creek continues in May as karma yogis Joel and Manatos'a pick up dried up blackberry branches and tree branches and a ton more work.

Didis and volunteers take on the task of removing invasive plants such as the the blackberries which have taken residence next to the creek. Volunteers are most welcome!!
